Kathryn L. Harris Women's Studies Paper Competition

Submission Rules:

• All papers must be have been written for a UAH course (and have not been previously submitted to this contest).
• Any field of study is eligible, as long as women's issues are substantially addressed.
• Essays may be no more than 15 typed pages.
• All references must be cited appropriately.
• Papers must include a cover page listing the title of the paper, the author’s name, and the name of the course and professor originally assigning the work.
• The author's name should not appear on any page of the essay except the cover page.

Assessment Criteria

• Persuasiveness and clarity of argument
• Awareness of audience
• Efficiency of organization
• Effectiveness and appropriateness of language
• Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and spelling
