Professor Reeves
teaches American government, with a particular emphasis on political
institutions, except for the courts. She offers undergraduate courses on
Congress (302), the Presidency (304), Political Parties & Interest
Groups (309), Elections & Public Opinion (310), and Federalism (304).
Her graduate courses include Research Methods (635), Separation of Powers
(605), and Public Policy Processes (501). The U.S. Congress, committee
leadership in particular, and political parties in Congress and in the
electoral arena are her primary research interests. She has written a book,
Congressional Committee Chairmen: Three Who Made an Evolution, and a number
of articles on Congress and on intergovernmental relations. She currently is
researching members of Congress who have switched political parties while in
office. She spends her "free time" being active in a number of
community and political organizations.
