Chapter 5

             Present tense quizzes from syllabus days 51-53:

                Day 55 (Friday 6 November):  the brown boxes (vowel change verbs) on page 80.  You see an English
                infinitive, and write all 6 German forms.  Example:

                         to see.  Ich sehe         wir sehen
                                     du siehst         ihr seht (give the English for this form:  Y'all see)
                                     Maria sieht     Maria und Helmut sehen

                Day 56 (Monday 9 November)  the blue box on page 80 (verbs that follow the same pattern as the brown
                boxes).

                Day 57 (Tuesday 10 November)  pages 33-34 and page 80.   Predictable verbs ("regular") and less
                predictable ones ("vowel change verbs") in the present tense.

                We're not including modal verbs in these short quizzes.  But as you work on the quizzes, glance at the
                modals from time to time and notice the places where they're different (as well as where they're similar).
