Creating Illustrations from Narrative

Create an appropriate illustration to supplement one of the following narratives. Follow the guidelines in Designing Visuals.  If you want to use visuals, www.1clipart.com is a good source of free images you can download.

A. Components of a Computer. Personal computer systems consist of input units (e.g., keyboards, magnetic tape, magnetic disks, CDs), a main processor unit, output units (e.g., printers, monitors, LCD display), and auxiliary storage units (e.g., tapes or disks). The main processor unit has two parts, the central processing unit (CPU) and the main memory. Data from the input units goes into the main memory. Instructions for processing this data reside in the main memory. The CPU interprets and executes these instructions, and controls the input, output, and auxiliary storage components.

B. PIN Asset Analysis. Estimated PIN asset worth indicates that PIN assets considerably exceed their book value. Current book value is quoted at $8,200 million, but my calculation of actual net worth at the current market value of corporate assets is $11,346 million. This calculation is based on an estimated $13,513 million in total assets for a generating plant ($7,303 million), high voltage lines ($250 million), substations ($1,460 million), franchised area ($2,000 million), and the Marble Hill Utility Plant ($2,500 million). From these total assets, we must subtract outstanding long-term debt ($1,338 million), 2.95 million shares of $100 per stock ($295 million), and 1.4 million shares of $25 per stock ($35 million). Even subtracting $500 million in estimated short-term notes and obligations, PIN is worth $3,000 million more than book.
