Welcome to the Department of Education. We are dedicated to the preparation of highly qualified teachers. Today, as in the past, students come to our Department because they want to make a difference in this world. Our students excel both academically and professionally. Evidence of our success is all around us--graduates of our programs are highly sought after and have established a record of outstanding achievement in the classroom.

The faculty in the Department of Education are exemplary teachers who care about our students, model "best practices," and are engaged in research and scholarly work. They continue to provide strong leadership and professional development for area school systems in through statewide reform initiatives in reading, math, science, and technology.

We are proud of our role in preparing the next generation of leaders in education.
