Dr. Pritchard received her Ph.D. in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona in 1996. She is very active at the national level in reviewing children’s literature and is a member of the Notable Children’s Books in the Language Arts Committee. She is the incoming Co-chair of Membership for the Children’s Literature Assembly, SIG of the National Council of Teachers of English. She recently published an article on the European Picture Book Collection in The Journal of Children’s Literature. She was the Dissertation Chair of a top 10 finalist for the 2005 Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award for the International Reading Association.
Research Interests:
Dr. Pritchard’s research interests include international children’s literature, children’s literature and content area instruction, and pre-service teacher’s understandings of content literacy.
