Julia Morrisroe
Following Duchamp and Warhol's lead, Morrisroe finds new ways to contextualize and examine the ephemera of popular culture. Her multi-media creations make use of traditional drawing media, digital techniques, and embroidery. The show on view is a response to aspects of children's television programs.

Eldred Hudson
Opening event Monday, January 10, 10:30 am, with artist. Hudson, a professor of art at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, is a designer who also produces fine art. His mixed-media work, which ranges from 15 by 15 inches to 4 by 8 feet, is abstract, exuberant, and personal, with references to Cubism.

Wendell Smith Smith uses oil on canvas to make vibrant, expressionistic paintings that have an identifiable Afro-Carribeaness.

Christopher McNulty
McNulty’s recent work explores the idea and process of measurement as metaphor for the search to understand both the internal and external world. A professor of art at Auburn University, McNulty uses wood and other materials to create pieces that are both conceptual and tactile.

Paintings by Donte’ K Hayes
Hayes uses his creation, the Gingerblack Man to spark meaningful reaction through humor and open the viewer to thoughtful interpretation and reflection about racism, past and present. He works in both acrylic (paintings) and pen and marker (drawings).

Photographs by Laura Noel
Noel specializes in finding beauty in unlikely places with her camera. Her show, entitled Pure is a group of large color photographs taken inside the tumbling little world of a car wash.

Recent Work by Anita Jung

In a selection of work appropriate for Women’s History Month, this printmaking professor from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville has created mixed-media pieces that explore feminine ideas/ideals of beauty.
