My on-going series of lithographic and collagraph prints explore our ideas, concepts, and myths about the vernacular landscape/ environment (rural, urban, and suburban)in both historical and contemporary contexts. Many of my images are American (Southeastern) urban and suburban landscapes, which have been shaped and altered by our automobile culture. More recent compositions employ several of the political and social tenets and pictorial conventions found in nineteenth-century American landscape painting. A recent series of prints document the suburban sprawl that is occurring in the formally rural cotton farming areas surrounding Huntsville, Alabama.
