Awards & Publications

Dr. Merrall Price delivered a paper entitled "Holy Violence: Felons, Martyrs, and the Virgin Mary," at the "Gender and Conflict in the Middle Ages” Conference at the University of York, England, January 5-7, 2001.

Dr. Madeleine Youmans, of the UAH English Department, presented a paper entitled “Student-Instructor Perceptions of Plagiarism in ESL Writing: Gaps and Intercepts” at the American Association for Applied Linguistics in St. Louis in February. She has recently applied for a Humanities Center Faculty Research Grant to study at Georgetown University this summer.

Dr. David Neff, of the UAH English Department, was one of the judges for the William F. Calvert Award for an outstanding critical essay, awarded at the Alabama College English Teachers Association meeting.

Dr. Daniel Schenker, of the UAH English Department, participated in a panel on “The Ethics of Graduate Education” at the Alabama College English Teachers Association in Montevallo, Alabama, on Feb. 16.
