Awards

Dr. Tracy Goodson-Espy was awarded a UAH research mini-grant for $3600. The title of her mini-grant is “College Algebra: Portraits of Student Conceptions.”

Drs. Hugh Comfort and Sandy Enger were awarded a $720,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a five-year Local Systemic Change (LSC) grant for the project, “Middle Grades Hands-on Science Activity Program (MGHASP).” This project is a partnership that includes UAH and seven north Alabama districts: Athens City, Decatur City, Fort Payne City, Jackson County, Madison City, Madison County, and Morgan County. This five-year project will involve 160 science teachers and approximately 11,500 students in grades 6-8.
