Computer mediated communications, also known as the web cognate, at UAH is a fusion of courses within the fields of graphic design, communication arts, and information technology. Rather than focusing upon simply learning how to build a web page, the web cognate emphasizes the enduring principles of web site development that can be drawn from each of these three fields. It teaches more than just how to put information online. It teaches how to integrate all elements of web design into the creation of a site that is superior in all facets of design, communication, and usability.
