The UAH graduate psychology program is a small Master's degree program in experimental psychology. Our program is designed to facilitate learning by allowing students to work closely with the faculty in small graduate classes and in conducting research with faculty members.

Although some of our students begin the program with an interest in one specific area of experimental psychology, many of our students are not sure which area they are most interested in when they begin. By the end of the first year students are encouraged to choose an area of concentration (Developmental, Social Cognition, Biopsychology, Human Factors, or Cognition) and a faculty advisor with whom to work. During the first year all graduate students are required to take Experimental Design and Statistical Analyses as well as two other graduate courses each semester.

During the fall semester, faculty and graduate students participate in a research seminar. In this seminar students and faculty present and discuss their research in a casual setting. This seminar not only allows students to learn about each faculty members' research, but also allows first year students the opportunity to learn about second year students' research and about how to present and evaluate research.
