There are currently about 80 full-time faculty in the College of Liberal Arts, with about 95% of the Liberal Arts faculty holding a doctoral or terminal degree in their respective fields. The faculty have come to UAH with Ph.D.'s from over 55 prestigious private and public universities such as Oxford, Yale, Princeton, and Notre Dame.

The duties of a professor of the College of Liberal Arts cover a wide range of activities. Professors teach several classes each semester, giving students an opportunity to have classroom and one-to-one personal interaction with a professor, unlike most major universities which have graduate teaching assistants leading class meetings. Most professors also work on research  in their academic fields, which is published in books and the appropriate professional and academic journals. Also, since each student organization requires a faculty advisor, many professors devote time to assisting their student-led groups in promoting and achieving the goals of each group. Finally, some of the professors in each department of the College of the Liberal Arts are student academic advisors, who assist the students completing a degree program of study in that department, providing advice, mentoring, and leadership to the future graduates of UAH in matters concerning everything from course selection, choosing a major and/or a minor, to extracurricular activities, future academic studies and professional careers.
