Choose one of the four visionaries we have discussed in part III of the class--Licklider, Bush, Nelson or Berners-Lee. Re-read their essay(s) and think about how their conception of the computer medium is helpful to understanding how to effectively organize and communicate ideas in a Web site. Demonstrate that you understand the visions by developing a three to four page Web site that summarizes in your own words the most important principles and observations of the essay you have chosen.
The Web site must not only summarize the reading, but demonstrate the principles in the reading through examples or links to other Web sites that illustrate their idea or with your own use of HTML. For example, if you choose Bush then you should create an actual "trailblaze" through a topic on your Website. Even with the fundamental HTML knowledge you have received in this course you should be able to create a small trail of logically arranged links to a variety of the most important essays, diagrams, pictures, etc. pertaining to a topic. Imagine yourself as an "expert" guiding a novice step-by-step through a few essential materials on a topic (such as taking a photograph, understanding terrorism, running for political office, cooking chicken, etc.) Be creative and feel free to use some of the ideas you develop in this project on your final Web site project.
Points: You will be awarded a maximum of 20 points added to a test grade for a successful project.
