Charger Card Accounts

The Charger Card offers four (4) types of accounts: Meal plans, Charger Bucks, Dining Dollars and Flex. Deposits by cash, check or credit card are accepted in UAHuntsville's Cashier's Office, UC 213, Huntsville, AL 35899, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. Credit card payments are accepted by telephone at (256) 824-6226. If mailing a check, please remember to include your student ID number and purpose for payment. Receipt for payment must be presented to the Charger Card Office for money to be deposited on your card.

First-year freshmen living in University Housing must purchase a $1340 meal plan each semester. Upperclassmen living in CCRH, FFH, NCRH, or Charger Village must purchase a $412 meal plan each semester. Undergraduate residents living in SECH or FRSO houses and trial-period residents are required to purchase at least a $225 meal plan each semester. And, finally, all off-campus full-time undergraduate students are required to purchase at least a $225 meal plan each semester. The only exceptions are those residents living in Housing's one-bedroom apartments in SECH and all graduate students on or off-campus.

A default meal plan is automatically deposited to the Charger Card of a student whose required meal fee has been assessed in Banner. All requests for changes to, cancellations of or exemptions from meal plans must be received in the Charger Card Office (UC 147) within the first two weeks of classes for that semester.
