Tom Todt, District Director for the Small Business Administration's Birmingham office will be the guest speaker for UAH SBDC Day 2017.

HUNTSVILLE, AL (March 8, 2017) — The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Small Business Development and Procurement Technical Assistance Center will celebrate #SBDCDay on Wednesday, March 22, at The Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UAH is a member of the Alabama SBDC Network.

The guest speaker will be Tom Todt (pronounced “tote”) the District Director for the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Alabama District Office, based in Birmingham. The open house is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Chamber located at 225 Church Street (downtown Huntsville). The event features no cost, face-to-face business counseling for Northeast Alabama citizens, and testimonials from two successful UAH SBDC clients, Jonathan T. Hard ('05, MGMT, BS), CEO H2L Solutions, and Kevin Pendergrass, Pendergrass Promos. Refreshments will be served. Tom Todt began his duties as SBA District Director in June 2008. Before his appointment, he served as a contractor performing geographic information systems analysis at the Alabama Army National Guard Training Center at Fort McClellan. Additionally, Todt has served as chair of the State of Alabama Business Education Advisory Committee. He is a member of the Vocational Education State Courses of Study Committee, and a board member of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce Executives Association.

SBDC Day is a national, collective proclamation of the success of and impact of America's Small Business Development Centers. The day long celebration will unite the nearly 1,000 SBDC centers across the country (http://americassbdc.org/members/) and the hundreds of thousands of clients they serve by sharing, in real time, the success stories and notable impacts SBDCs collectively have on the small business community at large.
