Workshops are designed to provide tips on how to best prepare students to seek employment and be successful at the workplace. To allow for questions and participation, we encourage you to attend these workshops. However, if you are unable to attend, please view the slides from available presentations below.

Building a Resume (PowerPoint Presentation)- With hundreds of qualified candidates, employers are looking for ways to cull down their lists. Resumes generally provide the first impression to employers, so it's important that it looks and reads to impress. This workshop will provide tips on how to dress your resume so that it gets attention and hopefully lands you an interview.

Interviewing (PowerPoint Presentation) - To get the job, you must perform well in an interview. Although we can't tell you the questions to expect, we can help you prepare mentally and physically. Come hear how to effectively communicate both verbally and non-verbally and how to make the best impression in an interview.

Co-op 101: Nuts and Bolts  (PowerPoint Presentation)- Learn the specifics and the benefits of cooperative education.

Career Fair Prep: How to Make the Most of a Career Fair - With lots of employers in attendance, career fairs can be intimidating. It's important that you are mentally prepared so that you can make the most of the short time. In this workshop you will learn how to prepare and present yourself, how to approach employers and how to convince employers to carefully consider you.

Dressed to Impress - The way we dress can land us the job or cut us out of job opportunities. It's important to understand what is business attire, business casual attire and casual dress. Learn what employers expect and how your dress can help you get the job.

Overview of Charger Path and Career Development Office - Charger Path is the Career Development Office's on-line career management system. All UAHuntsville students have a Charger Path account, and all alumni can create an account. In this workshop, you will learn how to effectively use the system to search and apply for jobs of interest.

Why am I Here? Where am I Going? - Do you ever question your decision to come to college? Ever doubt your choice of a major? Wonder where it will all lead you? Come learn how you can search yourself to see if you are on the right track and where your decisions can/will take you.

Etiquette Workshop (PowerPoint Presentation)- Employers have certain expectations of all employees. It's important that you know and understand these expectations. In this workshop, we will cover how you should dress, how you should spend your time, how you should approach your supervisor, how you can deal with difficult co-workers, and much more.

Federal Government Opportunities - With Redstone Arsenal located here in Huntsville, there are many government job opportunities available. The Federal Government has very specific ways for applicants to submit materials. In this workshop, a federal government representative will explain what is expected and how to maximize your chances of getting a job.

What Can I do with a Major in Liberal Arts? - Many people have a passion for liberal arts, but find it difficult to get a job in the field once they graduate. Come learn what career options you might have with a degree in Liberal Arts.

Mock Interviews and Resume Clinic - You can do much research to prepare a quality resume. You can rehearse answers for an interview. Take it one step further, and have a professional offer his/her critique. Schedule an appointment to have someone review your resume and/or perform a mock interview.
