College of Business Administration Faculty Research Award

The College of Business Administration Faculty Research Awards are given in two categories, one for the best research paper and one for outstanding research achievement.  The Best Paper Research Award is awarded annually to a member of the faculty for the best research paper.  All participating faculty members in the College of Business Administration except those holding named professorships, endowed chairs, or eminent scholar titles are eligible for this award.  The publication may be a refereed journal article or a research monograph, and must have been published within the previous two calendar years.

 Dr. David Allen won the 2014 Award for his article “Self-protection against crime victimization: Theory and evidence from university campuses," published in International Review of Law and Economics, Vol. 34, 2013, pp. 21-33

The Outstanding Research Achievement Award is given in recognition of a senior associate or full professor level full-time faculty member who has achieved a sustained record of outstanding published research.  To receive this award a member of the faculty must show evidence of sustained scholarly productivity in the form of significant and sustained published research.  In addition, there must be evidence of significant research achievement during the most recent three-to-five consecutive years.  The work must show an impact upon the field of research on a national or international scale, as evidenced by peer review in the form of the quality and ranking of journals, citation of the work, professional and academic awards or recognition, major editorial appointments and funded grants or contracts.  Lastly, the major components of the research had to be conducted during the nominee’s term of service at the College of Business Administration.
