Richard A. Witmondt, a Huntsville venture capitalist, gave Motorola common stock to build the quality of the business programs and to expand Huntsville’s industrial base. The endowment provides support to recruit and retain faculty and providing general support of the business programs. Preference is provided to entrepreneurship, venture capital financing, economic development, marketing research, and to management of new products and processes.

All participating faculty members in the College of Business Administration except those holding named professorships, endowed chairs, or eminent scholar titles are eligible for this award. The publication may be a refereed journal article or a research monograph, and must have been published within the previous two calendar years.
