Career Services Statement of Purpose

The Office of Career Services (OCS) provides assistance and employment opportunities for eligible candidates who are actively pursuing employment. The services of OCS are intended to support a registrant's job search. OCS does not function as an "employment agency" nor does it guarantee employment. Ultimately, the registrant assumes complete responsibility for his or her employment.

The assistance provided by OCS includes reference materials, presentations and individual appointments concerning resume writing, interviewing, and conducting a job search; resource materials on identifying potential employers, salaries and job outlook; resume referrals to organizations requesting resumes of qualified candidates; a current listing of position announcements; and interview opportunities. Organizations are actively recruited by OCS, but it is at the discretion of the organization if they will recruit, what positions they will recruit for, and what requirements (majors, GPA, graduation dates, relocation, etc.) they will use.
