* It is preferred to have your one page
resume printed on good quality white or ivory paper. In some
cases, two pages may be acceptable. The idea behind a one
page resume is to make you focus on relevant information.
However, it is acceptable to use a two page resume if going
to a one page resume will cause you to exclude relevant information.
* Be sure to have "white space" and avoid a crammed
looking resume. Allow space between sections and a minimum
of ½" margins. Use capitalized and bold for headings.
Your point size should be no smaller than 10 and no larger
than 14. Use a common font such as Arial or Times New Roman.
* Edit your resume carefully. Be sure that you have used
correct spelling and punctuation. It is a good idea to ask
a friend to carefully read over your resume. A single typographical
error could eliminate your chances for job consideration.
* You may also wish to make an appointment to have your
resume format and content critiqued by Career Services before
making multiple copies.
