Dr. Pat Barns
Project Manager
Computer Research, Inc.
1111 Hotlanta Blvd.
Atlanta, GA 11111
Dear Dr. Barns:
I am writing to apply for the position of Programmer/Analyst
that was advertised in today's Huntsville Times. I feel that
I would be a strong candidate for this position after reviewing
the qualifications. As you will note on my enclosed resume,
I have experience with a wide range of programming languages
through academic projects and part-time employment.
One of the reasons I chose to attend UAH for computer science
is their strong reputation for applying classroom theory
to real world problems. Most of my computer science classes
required multiple projects as a way of reinforcing what we
were studying. I particularly enjoyed projects that required
us to de-bug programs. My minor in mathematics is also beneficial
in the role of analyst. This background allowed me to obtain
a part-time position as a programmer that is detailed in
my resume.
Through various projects, including academic and employment,
I have demonstrated strong writing and analytical skills.
I feel I have good people skills as shown by my involvement
in campus organizations and work on a variety of teams.
Based on my research, Computer Research, Inc. is doing some
of the cutting edge work that I find very interesting. I
am planning to be in Atlanta the week after next, and would
like to meet with you to discuss the Programmer/Analyst position
and my qualifications. I will call you on Monday or Tuesday
of next week to see if we can schedule a meeting. Thank you
for your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Chris Blue
