Professor's Paper Accepted for Publication

Dr. Ravi Patnayakuni is one of the authors of the research paper "Logarithmic least squares method to priority for group decision making with incomplete fuzzy preference relations," that has been accepted for publication in the February 2013 issue of Applied Mathematical Modeling. The paper was co-authored by Yejun Xu, Ravi Patnayakuni and Huimin Wang.

Professor Emeritus Publishes Paper

On November 15, 2012, Professor Emeritus James McCollum had a paper, "Premises for the United States of Europe," entered into the Proceedings of the RAU Law Symposium, 5th Edition, Bucharest, Romania.

Center for Management & Economic Research (CMER) Scientist Participates as Professional Panel Member

CMER Senior Business Advisor Karen Yarbrough attended the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Southeast District Conference in Chattanooga, TN, on Sept. 20-21. She participated on a senior professional panel discussing new social media strategies to promote academic and research professionals as subject matter experts.

CMER Interim Director Participated on TARCOG Planning Committee

CMER Interim Director, Jeff Thompson, participated on the Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments (TARCOG) Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) planning committee. The committee assisted TARCOG staff in the development of the five year strategic plan for the North Alabama five county service area.

Center for Management & Economic Research (CMER) Staff Presented Energy Savings Session

Anthony Holden presented a session at the Alabama Community College Association entitles Practical Strategies for Energy Savings on November 19, 2012. This session included ideas for reducing energy costs in HVAC, lighting, and boilers with suggestions offered for engaging students, faculty, and staff in energy conservation.

Center for Management & Economic Research (CMER) Scientist Attends Black Belt 100 Training

Anthony Holden was trained in Innovation Engineering Black Belt 100 at Eureka Ranch in Cincinnati, Ohio October 17-19, 2012. Innovation Engineering is a system for helping manufacturers develop meaningfully unique patentable ideas for a manufacturing renaissance. In the coming year, Anthony will be leading an effort within CMER-ATN to get these tools and techniques into Alabama industry. On November 2, 2012, Anthony Holden attended ISO 14001 Executive Overview Training hosted by ATN.
