Professor's Paper Accepted for Publication
Dr. Ravi Patnayakuni is one of the authors of the research paper "Logarithmic least squares method to priority for group decision making with incomplete fuzzy preference relations," that has been accepted for publication in the February 2013 issue of Applied Mathematical Modeling. The paper was co-authored by Yejun Xu, Ravi Patnayakuni and Huimin Wang.
Professor Emeritus Publishes Paper
On November 15, 2012, Professor Emeritus James McCollum had a paper, "Premises for the United States of Europe," entered into the Proceedings of the RAU Law Symposium, 5th Edition, Bucharest, Romania.
Dean and Faculty Attend International Conference
UAH's Dean and faculty attended the 11th International Federation of East Asian Management held at Hohai University from October 26 – 29, 2012. Dr. Caron St. John gave the opening address and Dr. Ravi Patnayakuni made a research presentation titled "Aligning with partners while retaining flexibility: Balancing Power, Collaboration and IT Capabilities," and Dr. Eric Fong presented a research study, co-authored with Professors J. Daniel Sherman and William I. MacKenzie, Jr., entitled "Intertemporal Integration and the Reduction of Product Development Cycle Time."
Dean St. John and Dr. Yeqing Bao also met with faculty and students at Tsinghua University in Beijing, the University of Science and Technology of China in Heffe, and Shanghai Institute of Technology in Shanghai to discuss possible academic and research collaborations.
Professor Presents Paper in Paris, France
Dr. John F. Schnell presented the research paper, "Strategic Alliance Networks and Consensus-Fracturing in Team Decision-Making," at Ecole Supérieur de Gestion (ESG Management School), which is part of the network Grandes Ecoles, in Paris, France on November 22. He was an invited speaker.
While there, Professor Schnell initiated a discussion with the academic dean at ESGMS regarding a mutual program of student and faculty exchange.
Distinguished Professor Emeritus Conducted a Marketing Seminar
Distinguished Professor of Marketing Emeritus, Dr. James Simpson, recently conducted a seminar for a group of managers from China titled "Marketing Strategy for Large Institutional Projects," at the University of California-Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy.
CBA Lecturer Named Alumni Association President
Michelle M. Reavis has been re-elected for a third term (2012-2013) as President of the UAH Alumni Association. Mrs. Reavis is a lecturer in the College of Business Administration's Management, Marketing, and Information Systems Department. She is currently teaching MGT 405/505 - New Venture Creation and Entrepreneurship.
CBA Faculty Named to Board of Journal of Product Innovation Management
Dr. David Berkowitz was asked renew his term as Board Member of the Journal of Product Innovation Management. Dr. Berkowitz has been a member since 2008.
Adjunct Assistant Professor Wins Award
Wes Colley, Adjunct Assistant Professor, won an award from the Decatur Corridor Foundation to model traffic at the intersection of US 31 and US 72 Alt/AL 20 in Decatur, AL.
