Structural biology, Proteomics, X-ray crystallography

Research Description

Our primary goal is to investigate how the diversity and abundance of life are reflected upon the structure and function of proteins derived from extremophilic organisms.
Focus

Methods and tool development for high throughput protein crystallization
Structural and biochemical studies of extremophilic macromolecules
Proteomic investigation of hyperthermophilic microorganisms

Techniques applied in research
Molecular cloning and recombinant expression
Biochemical characterization
Protein crystallization
X-ray crystallography
Opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral research
