Tim Thornton ('85 BSEE, '94 MSEE Engineering) keynote speaker for the eighth annual Business MatchMaker event. Thornton is the Chief Executive Officer and President of nLogic.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville's (UAH) Procurement Technical Assistance Center will hold the eighth annual Business MatchMaker event on Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Jackson Center in Huntsville (6001 Moquin Drive). The keynote speaker is Tim Thornton ('85 BSEE, '94 MSEE Engineering), Chief Executive Officer and President of nLogic. The Huntsville-based company provides innovative products to government and industry customers.

The event begins at 7:15 a.m., with registration and breakfast, followed by an 8 a.m., address by Thornton. The Business MatchMaker sessions will begin after the breakfast address. To register for this event, please visit: uah.edu/sbdc/events.

The PTAC Business Matchmaker is a great opportunity for registered small business contractors to connect with government agencies and prime contractors one-on-one.

The 12 minute sessions (beginning at 8:30 a.m.) will provide small businesses the chance to discuss how they can meet the needs of agencies and prime contractors by providing detailed information concerning their capabilities during the important networking event.

Tim Thornton established nLogic in 2009, and serves as the company's CEO and President. He has more than 30 years of technical, management, and marketing experience supporting government and industry customers.

Thornton was founder and President of Torch Systems. He was a Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors for Davidson Technologies. Additionally, Thornton served as Director of Advanced Technologies for System Studies and Simulation, Division Manager of Advanced Technologies for Coleman Research Corporation, and a Research Analyst for Georgia Tech Research Institute.

Thornton currently serves on several Boards of Directors including Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce; Better Business Bureau (BBB); Huntsville Association of Small Businesses in Advanced Technology (HASBAT); and Army Space and Missile Defense Association (ASMDA). He is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 29. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering both from UAH with Summa Cum Laude honors.

The registration fee includes a continental breakfast buffet and snacks during session breaks. Pre-registration is required to secure attendance at this year’s event.

The UAH PTAC provides services including determining potential for government contracting and required registrations for the following Northeast Alabama counties: Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan.
