Biography

Dr. Gyasi teaches all aspects of French language classes as well as advanced courses in French and Francophone literatures and cultures. He previously taught French at Ohio State University and Lane College, and has also taught African and Comparative Literature at the University of Illinois. He holds an MA in International Affairs from Ohio University and MA and PhD in French from Ohio State University. His research interests are in translation and cross-cultural texts, language in African literature, and the interface between religion, culture and literature. His publications have appeared in professional journals.

He is also the faculty advisor for the Le Cercle français, the UAH French club. Club members discuss different issues concerning France and Francophone countries, watch movies, and practice their language skills in an informal atmosphere.
