Biography

Dr. Ariana Arcu began her cello studies at the age of 7 in Cluj, Romania. The daughter of prominent cellist, Valentin Arcu, Dr. Arcu was the winner of numerous national competitions including the first prize winner of the Constanta - Romania, National Cello Competition in 1994.

Dr. Arcu earned a degree from Bucharest Conservatory of Music in 2000. After touring and recording with The Scorpions, Dr. Arcu came to the United States to earn the Masters and Doctorate degrees from The University of Alabama. Dr. Arcu has concertized in Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and throughout Europe. She was invited to perform in Havana, Cuba with members of the University of Alabama Artist-Faculty. She was a teaching fellow at the University of Alabama. In addition to serving as Assistant Principal Cello of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Arcu was an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Alabama, in Florence, Alabama.
