Dr. Ka Man "Melody" Ng is a native of Hong Kong. She was the first-prize winner in numerous competitions, including Beethoven Piano Competition, Irving Shain Woodwind and Piano Duo Competition, Neale-Silva Young Artists' Competition, Badger Collegiate Competition, and MTNA (State & Regional) Young Artist Competition. Her appearances included broadcast performances on Wisconsin Public Radio and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Dr. Ng has also performed with the Concord Chamber Orchestra and Lawrence symphony Orchestra, and in both the 9th and 10th Annual World Piano Pedagogy Conferences.

In addition to her performance career, Melody maintains a full teaching schedule. She currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Music and Artist-Teacher of Piano at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). At University of Wisconsin-Madison, she had taught various programs including Group Class Piano at the Keyboard Department, Adult Piano Studies at the Division of Continuing Studies, Piano Pedagogy Lab and Piano Pioneers Outreach Program. She has previously served on the faculty at Lawrence University and Piano Odyssey Summer Camp.

Melody is very active in community involvement. She was selected as one of the award recipient for 2014 UAH New Faculty Research Program, where she will use the $10,000 award to create a 10-week music series at the local hospitals. She has previously served as the President of the MTNA Collegiate Chapter - UW Madison, and oversaw the Sound Health Community Program.

Dr. Ng received her Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree and Master's Degree in Piano Performance Pedagogy from University of Wisconsin- Madison, and had a doctoral minor in Business. She received her double-degree in Piano Performance and Economics from Lawrence University. Her teachers include Jessica Johnson, Anthony Padilla, Christopher Taylor, and Jacqueline Lam-Tung.
