Software Available Through TAG

TAG is the distribution point for computer software for which the university owns site licenses.

Free Anti-Virus Software

UAHuntsville has an agreement with McAfee to distribute the company's anti-virus software to the students, faculty, and staff of the university. The McAfee software license allows installation on both university and student-owned Windows PCs.

The current version of the McAfee anti-virus software is available for immediate download by currently registered students and UAHuntsville-owned PC users only. To download the software, you must use a computer that is connected to the network through an on-campus network access point, i.e., ResNET or the campus wired/wireless networks.

Campus Site License Software (Faculty and Staff Only)

TAG offers reduced pricing on software licenses purchased for university-owned computers. The software licenses are available for departmental purchase. To see the price list of software available through TAG or place an order, download the MOLP order form below.

Science & Statistics Software (Faculty and Staff Only)

In addition to the software products listed on the MOLP form, UAHuntsville has site licenses for the following science and statistics software:

Maple 13 from Maplesoft
Maple is a mathematics and modeling application for UNIX, Windows, and Macintosh. UAHuntsville maintains an unlimited site license for Maple, allowing for the use of the software on university-owned computers. Departments may request copies of Maple at no charge to the department. SPSS Basic/Advanced/Professional Statistics
SPSS is a statistical analysis application available for Windows XP/Vista and UNIX. UAHuntsville maintains a campus-wide license for 100 copies of SPSS. The license allows for SPSS to be installed only on university-owned computers. The current license fee for all three products is $93.84 per machine. PV-WAVE and JWAVE from Visual Numerics
PV-Wave is a data analysis and visualization application for workstations and PCs. JWAVE is the PV-WAVE Web Development Environment for network-based visual data analysis that allows for collaboration and data sharing over the internet, regardless of computer platform. UAHuntsville maintains a site license for the Windows XP/Vista and UNIX versions of the software. For more information, email the TAG Help Desk at taguah.edu

IMSL from Visual Numerics
IMSL is a library of embeddable math and statistics algorithms for analytic applications. The prewritten algorithms can be used to create C, C# for .NET, Java, Fortran, and Python applications. UAHuntsville maintains a site license for the Windows and UNIX versions of IMSL. For more information, email the TAG Help Desk at taguah.edu
