What is an EAP?
An EAP is an employee assistance and counseling program designed to provide employees and their families with resources for resolving work-related and personal problems. The EAP provides individual, couples, and family counseling to assist you in clarifying issues, exploring options, and finding solutions. An EAP can help you through many issues:
stress at work or home
marriage, relationship, or family problems
alcohol or drug addiction
grief and loss
loneliness
communication problems
depression or mood swings
eating disorders
self-esteem issues
stress related to physical or mental illness
stress related to finances
Who Is Eligible?
All regular, full-time employees and their family members are eligible for the EAP services.
What are the benefits?
Live phone access to master level staff clinicians, 24 hours/365 days a year for information, assessment, action planning, crisis intervention assistance, short-term problem resolution and referrals.
Up to four in-person counseling sessions annually per issue for assessment and short-term problem resolution. No limit to the number of issues per year.
Sessions are strictly confidential. Information about your phone calls or visits are not included in personnel records nor is it revealed to supervisors, coworkers, colleagues, friends, or family members.
