The University’s campus lake is approximately 6 1/2 acres in size. It is spring fed and was renovated during the summer of 1989. A keystone wall around the perimeter of the bank and a sidewalk were added at that time. It was dredged of approximately 100,000 cubic yards of settle. In the last few years two 5 horsepower aerators were installed to help with water clarity. These two together circulate 20,000 gallons of water per minute.

This area is also frequented by different waterfowl; Mallard ducks, Cormorants, Bitterens, Canadian Geese, Heron, and even Seagulls from the coastal areas find their way here. It is an attractive area and is used often by students, staff, faculty and visitors.

More than 100 different kinds of trees are displayed in this area. More are planned to be added in the future as the area develops.
