Assistant Professor of Finance

REQUIREMENTS:  The University of Alabama in Huntsville (www.uah.edu) invites nominations and applications for a tenure track faculty position in finance. We seek applicants who will welcome the challenges and rewards of serving on the faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive high technology business community. The appointment is at the level of assistant professor and will begin fall 2012.   Candidates should possess a doctoral degree in finance (or a related area) from an AACSB-accredited institution by August 2012.  Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of finance are welcome to apply, but our preference is in corporate finance and investments
Conduct and publish high quality scholarly research in a collegial environment in which both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaboration is valued; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in programs that emphasize both rigor and experiential learning, participate actively in the profession; and take part in university service and outreach to the public.  Faculty are also encouraged to seek extra-mural funding for research and educational initiatives. 
The Department of Accounting and Finance supports a B.S. in Business Administration with majors in both finance and accounting and offers a Master of Accountancy (MAcc).  The department also provides course support for the MBA and MS in Information Systems programs.

Senior Supply Chain Management Faculty Position

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Preference will be given to candidates who apply by October 31, 2011, but the position will remain open until filled.

 

REQUIREMENTS:  The College of Business Administration at the University of Alabama in Huntsville invites nominations and applications for a senior level tenure-track faculty position in Supply Chain Management.  The appointment would be either at the Associate or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to the faculty appointment and depending upon qualifications and experience, the person selected for the faculty position will also direct the Center for Management and Economic Research (CMER). The appointment will be effective at the beginning of fall semester 2012 or soon thereafter.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in marketing, management science, operations management, information systems, or a related field. The candidate must have an excellent record of publishing high quality research, as well as evidence of building and managing industry relationships. Because much of the supply chain activity in the community involves Department of Defense contracts, candidates must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance. The preferred candidate will have experience working with both Department of Defense and industrial supply chain management issues.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in operations management and supply chain management, and publish in leading journals. Provide expertise and leadership to CMER efforts to develop strategies, techniques and competencies to help firms and government agencies manage the rapid changes, high risks and uncertainties that characterize high-technology industry.  Secure funding through CMER for supply chain research that includes both faculty and students.  Contribute to the service missions of the college and the discipline.
