Laboratory and Facility Safety Programs
The Safety Program is outlined in several manuals that provide minimal guidelines for maintaining
safety in all UAH facilities. UAHuntsville is committed to providing a safe work environment, free of recognizable hazards. Furthermore it is the policy of
UAHuntsville to comply with all applicable state and federal standards, codes and regulations, including occupational safety and health standards promulgated
by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The goal of UAHuntsville's Office of Environmental Health and Safety is to ensure that research and educational activities on campus protect and do not
adversely affect the health and safety of all faculty, staff, students, and visitors on the UAH campus. The OEHS partially accomplishes this goal by
providing training and conducting laboratory audits.
