Sherman gets Academy of Management award

Dr. Dan Sherman, associate dean of UAH's business school and a professor of management, received the 2006 best research paper award from the Academy of Management's Organizational Communication Division.

Dr. Dan Sherman, associate dean of UAH's business school and a professor of management, received the 2006 best research paper award from the Academy of Management's Organizational Communication Division.

Sherman's winning paper was titled, "Dysfunctional influences of coordination quality."

The two runners-up to Sherman were both from MIT. More than 140 research papers were submitted for judging.

This is the second international research award for Sherman in two years. He received the IEEE Engineering Management Society's research award in 2005.

The research looked at how implementing different forms of integration effect the quality of coordination across an organization.
