The Student Government Association (SGA), the Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE), the Black Student Association, the Baptist Campus Ministry, Circle K, and the International Cultural Organization are only a few of the groups you can join in your spare time. The UAH chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) built a tethered satellite experiment and will soon have an experiment launched aboard a space shuttle. The UAH Biology Club sponsors frequent fossil digging expeditions throughout the region. Student clubs in the liberal arts provide the campus and community with art exhibits, political forums and musical productions. Cabaret, concerts, and films are offered throughout the year on campus for the entire university community. Mom's, our non-alcoholic night club in the University Center, features popular comedians, musicians or other entertainment weekly. UAH has six national fraternities and four national sororities. These organizations include Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Chi, Kappa Alpha Psi, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Sigma Nu for men, and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Delta Zeta and Kappa Delta for women. For recruitment information please check the organizations section under each individual fraternity and sorority or call Cathi Curtis, student activities director, at (256) 824-2717.
