Amateur Radio Association
The association seeks to promote interest within the University and the community.

Anointed Voices Gospel Choir
Anointed Voices is a gospel choir at UAH that began in September 1995. The purpose of this organization is to increase student activity on campus, promote interest in gospel music, aid in recruiting new students, and aid students in developing skills in the areas of sound and music. Any student enrolled in The University of Alabama in Huntsville may become a member of Anointed Voices. Anointed Voices have become well known throughout the city of Huntsville. Performances done by Anointed Voices have been on campus as well as off campus at various different churches. Anointed Voices have traveled to different cities for various performances. Anointed Voices Gospel Choir looks forward to many more years of singing Gospel Music.

Association for Campus Entertainment

The Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE) presents student activity programs for UAH through its five boards. The purpose of ACE is to provide entertainment as well as to enhance a student's cultural, intellectual and social life. ACE also provides the students with a telephone information service known as "The Source," which can be reached at 824-6666.
The activity boards contained in ACE are as follows:

Cabaret - The ACE Cabaret Series presents various types of live performers to UAH, from comedians to magicians.

Film and Video - The Film Series consistently provides a wide variety of quality films which appeal to the broad spectrum of UAH students. Film genres include classical, horror, comedy, adventure, and drams. Special features to watch for include m idnight movies, free food nights, outdoor films, and festivals.

Lecture and Symposium - The ACE Lecture Series serves as an extension of the classroom and helps bring together the academic and social environments within the University, presenting speakers on the serious issues of today.

Special Events - Special Events Committee is responsible for planning annual events such as Homecoming, and Springfest, which is the culmination of a year's worth of activities. Springfest is mandatory for students seeking fun! All activities ar e planned around a central theme; there will be food, fun, games, fun, carnival-type booths, fun and more fun!

Ballroom Dance Club
The purpose of the club is to foster a wide student interest and participation in ballroom dance and to assist students in further developing dance skills and leadership skills.

Black Student Association
The goals this organization are to promote unity and black cultural awareness among students, encouraging students to participate in all campus activities, promoting race relations among students at UAH and fostering the needs and interests of minority students.

Boost Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students (Bacchus)
BACCHUS promotes the idea of students having good times and fun without the excessive use of alcohol. It is a national organization with over 335 chapters at colleges and universities across the country. The BACCHUS movement aims to empower students to make healthy decisions for themselves.

Capital Management Group
The UAH Capital Management Group is comprised of UAH students from all majors and at every level of study. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has authorized us (and 17 other universities) to invest $100,000 on its account in a portfolio of U.S. stocks and to actively manage the portfolio. Our goal is
to maximize the value of the portfolio,
out-perfrom the other universities, and
out-perform the S&P 500,
while complying with TVA's investment guidelines.

exponent (Campus Newspaper)
The exponent is the UAH student newspaper. The paper is published weekly except during exams and holidays. The exponent office is located in Room 104 of the University Center, telephone 824-6090.

Chinese Student and Scholars (From Mainland China)
This group is organized to promote the friendship and closeness between American and Chinese students, scholars and others.

Chinese Student Association (From Taiwan)
The purpose of this organization is to promote the mutual understanding among people with different cultures.

The Friendly Musicians Society
We are an organization for students interested in ska, reggae, punk, and jazz music, as well as all musical styles that relate to the above. We do our best bringing good bands to UAH. Visit our website for more information!

Graduate Business Student Council
The purpose of the council is to serve as a focus group on all matters relating to graduate business programs. Provide feedback to the Dean/Assistant Dean on issues or problems of interest to all graduate business students as it relates to the public and private business sectors. Also serve as a sounding board for the Dean/Assistant Dean on new ideas or potential graduate business program changes prior to implementation.
Membership consist of fifteen graduate students from the College of Administrative Science who want to make a change.

Graduate Student Association
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is an independent, student-organized, and student-run organization. Membership is open to all students at UAH. There are no fees or membership dues. The purpose of the GSA is to represent and give voice to ALL the graduate students on campus. The GSA aims for more effective participation of the graduate students in all aspects of university life. The GSA stands for the principle that the graduate students should be informed about, and take part in, all decisions which affect them. Meetings take place bi-monthly and are posted on our web page.

Hiking & Whitewater Rafting Club
The purpose of this club is to foster student interest and participation in hiking and white water river rafting.

Indian Student Organization
The purpose of this organization is to promote friendship and understanding among students from India.

International Cultural Organization
The International Cultural Organization is an official club of UAH, founded in 2001 and recognized by the SGA.The purpose of this club is to allow all students, both Americans and non-Americans, to meet people from all over the world and share their cultural differences. Only by knowing and being in contact with various cultures is it possible to overcome prejudice and racism. International experiences enrich everyone, allowing people to appreciate the beauty of differences. Monthly international social events will create opportunities of beginning new friendships in a fun-filled environment. Karate Club
The objectives of the Karate Club are to promote the sport of Karate, to create opportunities for students to compete, and to increase campus awareness of self-defense. Seminars and training workshops are presented for the benefit of the club members. Membership is open to all students who are or who have been exposed to the martial arts.

Korean Student Association
The purpose of this association is to promote mutual friendship and solidarity among Korean students at UAH and to give other students a better understanding of Korean culture and history.

Materials Research Club

Minority Graduate Student Association
The purpose of the Minority Graduate Student Association is to create a support group among minority students presently enrolled in graduate degree programs at the University and establish an effective mechanism for networking with minority professionals who have previously attended UAH. The association will aspire to strengthen the focus of each member's prospective career and provide the University with a base of minority leadership and source of encouragement toward higher education for the University's minority undergraduate students.

New Media Consortium (NMC)
The NMC is a student-led organization focused on digital and interactive technologies. Our members have different majors ranging from graphic design, communications, MIS, computer science and psychology, but of course all majors are welcome. We regularly host local and regional speakers in the fields of web design and development and graphic design in order to learn from professionals and make important job contacts. Non Traditional Student Group (NTSG)
The UAH Non Traditional Student Group (NTSG) is a mutual support group for students of non-traditional age that meet to identify concerns and challenges of handling work, family/relationships, and returning to and continuing school. We continue to look for resources to help us in juggling our hectic and busy lives. Our meetings are also an opportunity to meet and share experiences with other non-traditional students.

Nuestra Raza (The Hispanic/Latino Students of UAH)
Purpose is to provide an opportunity for all students to learn about, experience and be enriched by the Hispanic/Latino culture. Also, to promote an understanding of the Hispanic/Latino culture and to provide support and leadership within the Latino/Hispanic community at UAH through services and programs.

Pakistan Student Association

Reform Party of UAH
This club is an effort to promote the ideas and beliefs of the Reform Party to the UAH community and the local area. Also, to educate the public about current political issues and to aid and increase voter registration. Everyone is welcome to join.

Residents' Life Association
The purpose of the Resident Life Association is to encourage the intellectual, social, cultural and recreational growth of students residing in University Housing.

Rowing Club
Membership is open to all men and women of the University.

Society for Creative Anachronism
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a world-wide, non-profit organization dedicated to the research and recreation of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, in a fun atmosphere! The SCA generally holds its meetings on Tuesday nights at the University Center, during the school year. (Contact us for meeting locations outside the school year.) Anyone is welcome to join and participate free of charge, even alumni and non-students.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association promotes the welfare of students in all areas of university life. Its primary purpose is to help improve the educational environment. This include promoting academic innovation and working closely with the faculty and administration to help bring about desirable changes in institutional policies.
The SGA is also responsible for developing and sponsoring programs which will enrich the student's cultural, intellectual and social life. Each student enrolled at UAH is automatically a member of SGA. An executive branch and a 20-member legislature are responsible for carrying out the official business of the organization.
The association sponsors many student services such as health insurance, special rates for community cultural events, legal services and information about other local services.

Students for Environmental Action
The objectives of Students for Environmental Action are to make students aware of the aspects of their lives that affect the environment, to educate each individual on his responsibility to protect our environment, and to improve the local environment by carrying out specific projects.

TIC (UAH Art and Literary Publication)
Tic is an art and literary magazine. All UAH students are eligible to submit their work for publication.

UAH Billiards Club
The purpose of this club is to organize and promote tournaments, leagues and educational programs for billiards at The Unversity of Alabama in Huntsville. These programs include formal and informal clinics for instruction on rules, games, and techniques used in billiards which will give members a chance to improve their strategies and techniques. Everyone is welcome to join even if one has never picked up a cue.

UAH Bowling Club
The UAH Bowling Team was organized in Fall of 1990. After an excellent first-year finish (4th in Southern Conference), a 14-0 record earned them the Southern Conference Title, national recognition for 1991-92, and led to an invitation to the Sectionals tournament. The UAH Bowling Team has had two bowlers that achieved the National Academics Award in 1991-92. The team has high expectations for the near future.

UAH Sports Disc Club
The UAH Disc Sports Club is open to all students. Members participate in the promotion of disc sports and help in the upkeep of the UAH frisbee golf course. The course on campus is one of only three in the country on a state University campus.

UAH Shooting Club
The purpose of the UAH Shooting Club is to promote gun safety and shooting sports among UAH students. The club also fosters a spirit of friendly competition and represents UAH in intercollegiate shooting matches. The club does not discriminate based on race, sex, age, or national origin.

Women's Studies Student Organization
The Women's Studies Student Organization (WSSO) was established for students interested in women's studies or issues. The objectives of the group are to promote and encourage discussion of women's issues, provide outreach services to community programs or groups and to serve as a support for UAH's Women's Resource Center (Morton Hall room 216). Members may be any students or alumni who are actively interested in women's issues or studies. While the group's main focus is of issues pertaining to women's studies, men are also encouraged to become members. To make the group productive and successful, WSSO relies on time investments or other resources instead of membership fees or dues.
