Multimedia Music Theory

Multimedia Music Theory offers high school and college students a brief, but concentrated, introduction to music theory. The program is divided into eight sections that can be accessed in any sequence: Nature of Sound, Melody, Harmony, Tonality, Notation, Rhythm, Harmony and Texture, and Form and Style. Each section contains between five and nineteen pages of information, most accompanied by brief audio examples. Unfortunately, all of the instrument examples are played with MIDI files, meaning that a violin doesn't actually sound like a violin. The CD also includes a Music Glossary that gives definitions as well as pronunciations of musical terms.
