
Lady Chargers hit the wall after back-to-back wins

The Lady Chargers fell to 10-14 after a 2-3 week. Things were looking up after a home win over MUW and an upset of Henderson State. However, consecutive losses to Truman State, Christian Brothers and Harding have the Lady Chargers reeling at 10-14 with powerful GSC East rival UNA looming next on the schedule.

The Lady Chargers lost 3-of-4 matches at the Lady Reddie Classic at Henderson State University. The Lady Chargers stunned host Henderson State 27-30, 31-29, 30-22, 21-30, 15-7 in a five-game classic on Friday afternoon. However, UAH lost to No. 15 Truman State 30-22, 30-25, 30-27 in the nightcap.
The win over Henderson State avenged a 3-0 sweep that the Lady Chargers suffered at the hands of the Reddies last month at Spragins Hall. Emily Miller led UAH against Henderson State with 22 kills and 27 digs. Kristian Kleminsky added 16 kills and Kristen Henley had 10 kills and four blocks. Heather Grumke tallied 55 assists in the match.
Miller was the only Lady Charger in double-figures in the match against Truman State. She had 11 kills. Grumke finished with 25 assists.
On Saturday, the Lady Chargers seemed to be on the mend when they beat Christian Brothers 30-20 in the first game of the match. However, the Lady Buccaneers came back to win the next three games 30-25, 30-24, 30-23. The Lady Chargers finished the Classic with a loss to South Central Region No. 4 Harding University. The Lady Bison knocked off the Lady Chargers 30-15, 30-27, 28-30, 30-19.
Miller had 12 kills against CBU and added 20 more versus Harding. Kristen Henley had 26 kills combined on the day, knocking down five blocks against CBU. Ajai Cribbs had a season-high 11 kills against CBU, while Molly Healey had 11 in the match against Harding. Heather Grumke finished the day with 107 assists, 51 against CBU and 56 against Harding.
UAH def. MUW 3-1
The UAH volleyball team resembled a deer caught in headlights in the first game against a fired up bunch from the Mississippi University for Women. The visiting Blues stunned the Lady Chargers with a 30-23 win. However, the Lady Chargers settled down to win the next three games 30-18, 30-21 and 30-25 to win the match and break a three game losing streak.
Kristian Kleminsky led the way for the Lady Chargers with 20 kills. Emily Miller added 14 kills and 20 digs, while Kristen Henley knocked down 11 kills and Molly Healey 10. Cathryn Sterling also had 20 digs and Heather Grumke had 53 assists.
