The roll continues for the Lady Chargers
Antoine Bell, UAH Sports Information

The 23rd ranked Lady Chargers are on a serious roll after another spotless week which included three more road wins. The Lady Chargers whipped West Alabama, Valdosta State and West Florida to improve to 22-6 and 9-2 in the Gulf South Conference.

The week started with a 3-1 (30-25, 30-29, 29-31, 30-27) victory in Livingston, AL against West Alabama. Senior middle blocker and GSC East Player of the Week Ellen LaFiore scored a season-high 31 kills to lead the UAH charge.

Lindsay Dunham and Kristian Kleminsky finished with 11 kills each while senior setter Jane Baumgartner piled up 64 assists.

On Friday, the Lady Chargers won for the eighth consecutive time, knocking off Valdosta State 30-32, 30-22, 25-30, 30-28, 15-9 on the road.

LaFiore paced the Lady Chargers with 18 kills. Melissa Feldmann and Kleminsky added 13 kills each. Senior setter Jane Baumgartner finished with 57 assists.

The Lady Chargers finished off the week with a trip to the Sunshine State, and a rematch with West Florida. The Lady Chargers hit a bump in the road in their game in the match. However, bumps haven’t been a problem for the Lady Chargers. This time would be no different. UAH was stunned in the opening game of their match against West Florida 30-21, but rebounded to roll in the next three games, 30-15, 30-27 and 30-24. The win stretched the UAH winning streak to nine matches.

LaFiore capped off an outstanding week with 18 kills. Kleminsky tallied 14 kills, while senior Erin Denny finished up with 13. Feldmann had an outstanding match on both offense and defense with 10 kills and 19 digs, while Baumgartner piled up 54 assists in the match. UAH-West Florida Boxscore
