
Valdosta State burns Lady Chargers

Valdosta, Ga. The Valdosta State Lady Blazers lived up to their name by burning the Lady Chargers 3-0 in a Gulf South Conference match. The struggling Lady Chargers fell 15-3, 15-11 and 15-10.
The loss dropped UAH to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the GSC, while Valdosta State improved to 11-3 and 3-2.
The Lady Blazer defense held UAH leading scorer to 12 kills on the day. Cathryn Sterling finished with 22 assists.
It doesn't get any easier for the Lady Chargers. On Tuesday night, the rival Lady Lions from UNA come calling. The last time the two teams met at Spragins Hall, the Lady Chargers won a thrilling five game match. The Lady Lions won the last match between the two teams, in the South Central Region tournament last season.

Ellen LaFiore had 18 kills and Cathryn Sterling 27 assists as the Lady Chargers rebounded from Tuesday night's loss at Montevallo with a 3-0 win over West Florida.
The Lady Chargers swept the match 15-9, 15-4 and 15-3. The win evened the UAH record to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Meanwhile, the first-year Lady Argonauts fell to 4-8.
