
Lady Chargers come up empty at Emporia State tournament

Emporia, KS - The UAH Lady Charger volleyball team capped off a rough weekend at the Emporia State Volleyball Invitational with a 3-1 loss to Northwest Missouri State. The loss was the Lady Chargers third straight. After a winless showing in Emporia, UAH fell to 4-5 on the season.
The Lady Chargers hoped to get off of the deck after losing to powerful Truman State and host Emporia State on Friday. However, UAH got off to a slow start, losing the first game of the match 15-5. The Lady Chargers came back to win the second game 15-11, but NWMS rebounded to win the next two 15-10 and 15-11.
Despite the loss, Ellen LaFiore had 21 kills to lead the Lady Chargers. Cathryn Sterling tallied 47 assists and 14 digs. Melissa Feldman had 10 kills and 15 digs, while Erin Denny finished with 10 kills and 14 digs.
UAH will try to rebound Sunday afternoon at home against Lincoln Memorial.
