Lady Chargers bag the Tigers

The West Alabama Lady Tigers put up a fierce battle on its home floor, but the Lady Charger spikers came out with their second consecutive match sweep. UAH won 15-8, 15-11 and 15-13, improving to 19-13 overall and 9-5 in the Gulf South Conference. West Alabama fell to 13-19 and 6-10.

Ellen LaFiore had 13 kills and 7 blocks to lead the Lady Chargers. Lindsay Dunham added 12 kills, while Jane Baumgartner finished with 42 assists.

The Lady Chargers will be back at Spragins Hall for a pair of GSC matches this weekend. On Friday, West Florida visits the Rocket City, then West Georgia comes to Chargerland on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Chargers defeated both teams on the road earlier this season.

Lady Chargers cruise past the Blues

The Lady Chargers needed a little over an hour to finish a season sweep of the Mississippi University for Women 15-5, 15-10 and 15-6 in a Halloween, Gulf South Conference match at Spragins Hall.

The Chargers improved to 18-13 overall and 8-5 in the GSC, while MUW fell to 15-15 and 7-8.

Ellen LaFiore paced the UAH attack with 20 kills. Jane Baumgartner finished with 29 assists and Melissa Feldman had 11 digs.
