The Lady Charger track team will host its home meet on Saturday along with Alabama A&M at the Bulldogs track complex. The event gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with the field competition. The first running event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

Last weekend, senior Candace Chambers ran a provisional qualifying time of 37:47.89 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville. If her time holds up, Chambers will be the third Lady Charger to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Meanwhile, at the Jace LaCosta Invitational at Mississippi State University, three new school records were set. Easter Grant set marks in both the 100 and 200 meter races, while Bristol Hartlage knocked out the old record in the javelin. Grant finished sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.61, and fifth in the 200 at 25.41. Hartlage came in eighth in the javelin with a distance of 29.73 meters.
