Nine UAH records fell as the Lady Chargers took first place at the Mt. Laurel Invitational in Sewanee, TN on Saturday. The Lady Chargers scored 169.5 points, outdistancing second place Tennessee Tech by nine points.

Freshman LaMardra Moore set three new marks. She set records for the long jump (4.93m), 100 meter dash (13.15) and 100 meter hurdles (17.00). She was also on the record setting 4x200 relay team along with LaDasha Tompkins, Easter Grant and Melinda Phillips. Thompkins, Davis and Phillips joined Lesley Davis to set the new mile relay record of 4:10.31, besting the old record by three seconds. Tompkins also set a new record in the 400 meter dash at 59.08, while Grant eclipsed the old 400 meter hurdle record, running a fleet time of 1:11.67.

The other two records set during the day came in the field events. Lauren Bussey jumped eight feet to set a new pole vault mark and Bristol Hartlage launched her javelin 93.2 feet to blow away the old record by more than 23 feet.

Both record setting relay teams finished first in their races. Amy Phillips won the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:51.62. Bussey and Moore also finished first while setting new UAH marks.

Bussey, Tompkins and Lindsay Dunham also came in second, third and fourth in the triple jump.
