It was no contest as the Lady Charger track team rolled to a runaway victory in the UAH Invitational at Milton Frank Stadium. The club team also topped the men's field.
The Lady Chargers also set or tied new records in six different events. LaDasha Tompkins tied her own record in the 400 meter dash finishing with a time of 59:08. Tompkins also joined Lindsay Dunham and Lauren Bussey in knocking down the high jump record, clearing 5'4". Bussey also surpassed the records for the pole vault and javelin. She cleared 8'11 3/4 (2.74m) in the pole vault and tossed the javelin 29.71 meters. Holly Coggins completed an excellent day in the field events for the Lady Chargers setting new records in the discus (34.85m) and shot put (10.32m).
Tompkins also teamed up with LaMardra Moore, Easter Grant and Melinda Phillips to break the mile relay record, finishing first with a time of 4:09.51.
