The Lady Chargers continued to re-edit the records in their short two-year history. Seven more marks were set at the Jace LaCoste Invitational, hosted by Mississippi State University in Starkville.

Amy Phillips stunned the Division I field, winning the 3000 meter Steeplechase. Phillips broke her own record finishing with a time of 11:26.85. She also was a provisional qualifier for the Division II Championships.

LaMardra Moore broke her own 100 meter dash record when she ran a 12.99 in the event finals. The old record, set by Moore at the Mt. Laurel Invitational, stood just a week.

Easter Grant surpassed the 200 meter dash record, running a time of 26.50. Grant set the old record of 26.56 just a month ago at the Auburn Springtime Invitational. Lesley Davis set a new 800 meter dash mark, finishing eighth with a time of 2:18.64 in the finals. Davis set the old record at the Auburn Invitational.

Three records were set in the field events. Lauren Bussey cleared a height of 8 ft. 6 in. in the pole vault to blow away the old record by six inches. Bussey also held the old record. LaMardra Moore placed 10th in the long jump and set a new UAH record with a distance of 16-10.75 (5.15m). Then, Bristol Hartlage the Lady Charger record in the javelin with a toss of 93-06 (28.50m).

Although as a team the Lady Chargers placed last, individually it was an outstanding meet.

The Lady Chargers will host their first ever home track meet next weekend at Milton Frank Stadium. The UAH Invitational begins at 10 a.m.
