The Lady Charger track and field team wasted little time establishing itself in their first meet, placing third in a seven team field at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational.
The day was highlighted by several superlative individual performances as well as a record-breaking outing in one of the relays.
The Lady Charger distance medley relay team destroyed the Fowler Center (Sewanee, TN) record with a time of 13:15.53. The first place Lady Chargers blasted the old mark (13:46.28) by more than 30 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Lady Chargers grabbed a pair of individual first place finishes. Aytree Blalock won the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:45.47, while Rachel Weaver topped the field in the pole vault clearing a height of seven feet (2.13m).
