"Under the Bucket" Week 5

Throughout the season, Brett McConnachie and Dominik Rozman will be giving Charger hockey fans an inside look at the team, from practice to the antics on the road, and of course a player's look at the action on the ice. It's a weekly feature we like to call "Under the Bucket."

The Charger blue took on Robert “Bobby Mo” Morris this past weekend. We played hard but fell one game short of the sweep. On the Friday we couldn’t get one past Colonial net minder Christian Boucher and ended up losing 1-0. Saturday night was a different story though. The offense kept on scoring while Scotty “Big Slop” Munroe was solid between the pipes. This win put us 2-2 in conference and 4-4 for the season.

This weekend coming up is going to be sat out by the Chargers. There are no scheduled games so the boys are going to be practicing even harder during this week of Thanksgiving. Tuesdays practice consisted of some drills early on with a controlled scrimmage at the end. The scrimmage had two teams, one being made up of the Ontario boys with the rest of the Americans. The other team consisted of western Canada. Ontario’s team dominated the entire scrimmage notching eleven goals to western Canada’s one. Brett “The Hardest Hitter in the CHA” McConnachie and Dominik “Quick Feet, Sick Hands” Rozman each put four goals past the western Canadian goaltenders. Shaun “Ten Hours to See Cara” Arvai put on a poke checking clinic, and also issued some bone-crushing hits on David “Always Answers to Arvai” Nimmo and kept the westerners off their game ending up in a 11-1 thrashing.

To all our families, fans, and friends, have a great Thanksgiving Holiday. You can never eat enough turkey……..and get them greens in yuh.
