Thursday's practice ended with a bang with specialty teams units firing on all cylinders. The “Scooter Line” made up of Josh”Bi-polar” Murray, Tyler “Free Food” Hilbert and Kevin “Little Bob” Galerno were going tape to tape all day and played hard in the defensive zone, and now its game time. In Friday night's contest , Niagara put the Chargers down 3-0 at the end of the first. The boys gathered themselves and came out hard for the second and third period and came back from a 4-1 deficit to win the game. The “Dumper line” composed of Dave “Old-School-Long-Dumper” Nimmo, Steve “Humpty Dumper” Canter, and Matt “Lil' Dumper” Sweazey were key in this comeback by scoring some big goals. Saturday was a different story as the Chargers came out to a quick start scoring 3 goals in the first 10 minutes. But by the end of the period Niagara rallied and notched 2 power-play goals. Unfortunately, we took some marginal penalties as the second and third periods went on. With this huge opportunity the purple eagles took advantage and struck numerous times with their power-play. This time there was no Charger Blue comeback as Niagara went on to win by a score of 8-4.
This weekend we will be up in Pittsburgh playing Robert “Bobby Mo” Morris in a CHA conference battle. The Grizzly line made up of Dominik “Grizzly Bear” Rozman, Chris ”Little Griz” Martini, and Todd ”The Grizzler” Bentley will be a key factor in this weekends success. The boys are excited to leave for Robert Morris to grab a couple conference wins.
